could'nt agree more. I picked this scope up back in the early '70s' mounted on a rem. 700 adl 30-06 and was a little sceptical at first. got a lot of comments like wont hold zero, no repeatability etc. etc. played musical scopes throughout the years but its back on the 06 and its still my take anywhere, do all rifle. just hope it doesnt break in the future, dont know of anyone who works on them that old.

Yes, you can get them worked on. I have the El-Paso address some where. I will try to find it and post it. I bought mine in 1962 and use it on a Rem. 722 .257 Roberts. made in 1956. I don't shoot it much anymore but wouldn't part with it at all. Carl L.

Got a question about the old Weaver variables.  I bought a used rifle about 1977 with a Variable Weaver.  I may be wrong, but I seem to remember that the power dial was opposite from Leupold.  What I'm saying is, to go up in power, I had to turn the Weaver the opposite direction.  I dropped the rifle and the scope's power ring got cross threaded and very hard to turn.  Sent it to El Paso and they sent me a new scope in the box.  I traded it rather than breaking the plastic covering on the box.

Am I wrong on the direction of the adjustment ring?  It was 30 years ago and I just don't remember now.

Charles P, I don't know about all the weaver scopes but all the variables ones that I had did. The Leupold's turn to the right and the Weaver's to the left to get high power. Somebody may chime in and give some better information than I can give you.  Carl L.
