I now have my rossi 410 - tucker
« on: May 23, 2008, 04:52:27 AM »
Hello. Thanks to a very professional employee of a local firearms sporting goods shop, I have been able to obtain one of the seemingly few remaining wooden stocked Rossi 410 shotguns. And it is a beauty! 28 inch modified choke very deep blueing barrel, with what I think is a nicely figured brazilian walnut stock. May get a chance sometime this weekend to shoot, if so I will give you the results. Thanks, and have a good weekend. tucker

Looking good Tucker! That's some nice wood on the buttstock (I think it's Imbuia wood).

Hope you are able to get out soon and shoot it. Let us know how you like it.

Matt

Hi mattbodnarchuk! I have not been to the range yet time and circumstances have not allowed but very soon. Non the less, my good friend and I shot he gun for a little bit in his backyard just to see what it would do. And for the little amount of shooting we did both of us were impressed. I sure do like how this tiny little gun handles. It is a little bugger, as my friend says. Do all of the Rossi guns have such small frames matt? Thanks! Have a good evening tucker

Hi Tucker,

Glad you like the gun! As far as the single-shot Rossis go, I think the action size is small on all of them (maybe even smaller on the youth models). When there's only room for one round, and no complex feeding mechanism like semi-auto or bolt-action, you can do away with a lot of the bulk of the action. My first single shot was an NEF, and I too was kind of shocked by the narrow action. But I like guns to be on the shorter/smaller/lighter side (even though I'm a big guy). No need for a 10-pound, 50" gun!

Happy shooting.
