Running pole set variations?
« on: June 10, 2008, 05:16:58 AM »
I picked up some small landscape timbers that are 8' long and i was thinking about making some running poles. I was going to notch out spots in the pole to firmly hold some footholds. Does any body have any suggestions on trap placement and or pole set-ups?

Forget the running poles, cut the timbers up ,and make some rat floats out of them.

What do you think your going to catch with a pole set that you can't catch on the ground. Setting cubbies will be more poductive. Wait till this fall and I will show you how Little Grasshopper. That sounds as stupid as when you say it. LOL, If you are bored get to work on some cubbies.

You know that I'm a plastic man. You can "hump" around wood cubbies.

Fisher, Marten and red squirrels are the animals usually taken on the poles. You guys have no marten season and are lucky if you draw a fisher tag, so I assume you are after red squirrels. You may also take some weasel.

Fisher opens the first week of trapping, wouldn't want to see you get in trouble.
