I'm interested in trying your trap dip on my coyote traps.Used to lye,dye and wax.Went to gas dip products. Was going back to dye and wax.Coyotes are tough on any finish. How does your Formula One hold up?
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!

I think Newt must be out fishin or something...haven't seen hide nor hair of him in a while.  I know nothing of any value on his dip.  I have found that on a well rusted trap, a dip or two in the 1:5 dilution (dip too fuel) holds up much better to a coyote that the thicker coating or any on shinny traps.

PS, never found your guy in NM.

Wackyquacker-I tried double dipping them, tried thinning out the mix,not quite as thin as you suggested though.I wasn't impressed with how it held up and if there were traps I wanted to redye that was out of the question as it was too cold.I had refusals, even sets in coal shale banks.I can smell the stuff,I know coyotes can.I was just looking  to try something different.

I hear ya.  Others report the same type happenings.  I wonder if the stuff dries or cures (changes chemically).  I've got know idea other than the low humidity and temp/sun down here.
