i have been thinking about putting a red dot scope on my sidekick  muzzle loader.do you think its a good idea.or would i be better off with a conventional scope. i will be mostly hunting  whitetail deer out to 125 maybe 150 yards.

I just bought a Leupold 1-4x20 VX-I Shotgun/Muzzleloader scope for my Sidekick and it's doing great.  I paid 199.99 to my door from SWFA.  I'm not one for red dots unless it's on a short range handgun personally.

I have a Huntsman that had a red dot scope on it for a season.  Nothing wrong with the red dot scope but I just did not feel comfortable with it so I installed a conventional low power Leupold.  I think it is a 2.5x20.   I got a doe with it out to 80 yards and did not feel I needed more magnification.
