I've only heard of them being used on hogs. If you are looking for a squirrel treeing dog, there are lots of fellas in MO and surrounding states that raise and breed good Feists & Curs. Check out these links and you'll find some:
www.sqdog.com
www.ukcdogs.com/curfeist.html
Good luck on a squirrel dog. They are a ton of fun. Here's a pic of mine checking out a couple of squirrel that they treed for me.

I knew a guy that used them for deer... I wouldn't run deer with dogs, but he did

HillBill,
There are a few guys that do use Cat's for squirrels and 'coons. I have a Kemmer cur and a Hybrid myself. If you check out those sites that Jumpshootin mentioned you'll find what you need.

Hi, I was just looking for information about training and found this older message about Catahoulas. They can be trained for anything you want them to do. Hunting duck, coon, squirrel, rabbit, hog or even bear. You can also train them to be a search and rescue dog, or K-9 drug dog, or leading the blind. They are very smart and will do anything you want them to.

Sorry for the very late reply, but I just heard the message.

:-) I heard many good responses about Catahoula at wild boar hunting. However, I am sure you will not find a better treeing dog then the West Siberian Laika. Check in my web sites

All puppies start treeing naturally. Just take the puppy in woods often and turn loose. Of course, these dogs look very much from the catahoula, but may be you will like their hunting style.
