I haven't heard anything about that... and it would seem that Ruger would be shooting themselves in the foot by dropping the #1A or the #1 RSI International in .30/06... a "bread & butter" caliber in ANY model of rifle.

But then... you never know what Corporate America is gonna do, do ya?   :)

Those models are not discontinued according to the current catalog.  I do know that #1's are not thier top production model so supplies are not always high.  They've been in short supplies in many warehouses for a while.  It usually is around April that a sizeable shipment of Ruger's is shipped out.  With such low availability of the #1's now, I'd think these will be in that shippment.
However, I'd think one could be found someplace at n affordable price especially sued. I'm seeing more than normal show up on used racks up here and have gotten a couple at very good prices the last year or so - one a #1A in .30-06.  Just keep yor eyes open.

I hadn't heard about the '06 in the RSI but had heard rumors that the 7x57 is going away. Wouldn't it be grand to have the RSI in say a 6x55 with a 1x8 twist......

Having a RSI single shot with its full Mannlicher style stock in 7x57 is "grand" as well.   I "know"... I've got one and believe it would be a dis-service to rifle owners everywhere if they were unable to get a "classic" caliber in a "classic" rifle... the 7x57 in the Ruger #1 RSI single shot rifle.    :)

I hear ya Ron.
The RSI has a sort of refined look to it. I wish that they made an assortment of different calibers for them....338/06, 35 whelan, or 358 winchester......

There is a dealer on gunsamerica that has 2 F/S; and two others that have 7x57's & .270's.

I recall some years ago they just didn't have a "run" set up to do some calibers... had a long wait.

HOWERVER, their website indicates they HAVE dropped a number of 1B's, including .243 win and .338 win mag.  I was sad to see them drop most of their 1S's a few years ago (I have a 7mm rem mag in 1S that I am very fond of).

I *HOPE* this turns around with the economy when it improves (*THAT* sounds optimistic, doesn't it?).  I've noticed a significant contraction in a number of lines of firearms/ammo options (though Remington seems to be pushing more and more...).

This is at the top of my "wish list".  By the sounds of things, I may need to stop wishing and start searching.
