Tell me if you know anything about this 1911 a1 remington

A little research shows that it was made in 1945.

Anyone seen grips like these before?

Whats it worth?
IF we're not supposed to eat animals,
how come God made 'em outta meat?

1945 production by Remington Rand may have been toward the end of Remington's contract, which was not for a large number of pistols, compared to some other producers and this enhances its value.

However, nickle or chrome and gold plate detract somewhat from its collector value.

I have seen grips like that south of the border in Mexico.  They may be pewter, or even silver with gold or brass inlay.  That style grip was popular, at least down there, in the mid-60s, as I recall....................

All in all this makes for an interesting piece that may have a pretty colorful history.

Value?  I dunno, let's have some of the other folk take a stab at that question.  Mikey.

Unfortunately, the cosmetic upgrades have completely destroyed the collector's value.

A friend of mine had a 1944 Remington-Rand that had been nickeled with staghorn grips.  It was in very good condition.  He started out asking $1,000 for the gun, which is about on the low side of what it would have been worth in original VG conditon.

After two years of trying to sell it he eventually found a buyer who offered him $600 and he took it.  I'm thinking that's about fair market value for your gun as well.
