Barrel Fit
« on: June 18, 2008, 04:10:32 AM »
Last Fall I got 3 new barrels factory fit to the same frame.  This Spring, I put them all on their own frames.  The .357 locked up tight and proved to be a tack driver, but I noticed a slight rattle in it like something was loose.  It locked up tight on a .002 feeler.  You couldn't pull it out.  I found it was rocking on the pivot pin, so I sat back, had a beer, cut the can and shimmed the pivot.  End of rattle.  Now, I've got to slam it pretty hard to lock up, and sitll can't pull the feeler out.  Now, do I leave it or touch a file to the latch shelf????  It is right on.  Nailed a starling dead center at 110 yards yesterday.  It's a scout mount pistol scope.
Keep both eyes open and make the first shot good.

Smoke the latch shelf and check engagement.  ;)
