209 primer for 7/8 breachplug
« on: July 12, 2008, 05:19:13 PM »
Busta; Have you ever considered useing a grease fitting drilled out for a primer holder? Have read all your post on this subject. I have the 50 cal, 243 barrels with 7/8 breach plug. Great gun. I read all your post. Also have the 25acp breachplug. Have shortened a 25acp and insirted it in primer hole first with no powder/sabot. Placed 209 in alone and fired it. To much blow back and it flared the 25acp a small amout where it comes out of the primer holder. Thanks for all your information on this muzzleloader.

jenkst,

First of all, Welcome to Graybeard Outdoors!

No, I haven't considered using a grease fitting, but would love to hear more about this idea. What is the thread pattern on them, 1/4-28"? Probably not that easy.

If you could elaborate a little more on your idea, or show a pic, that would be great? Any and all ideas on this matter are welcomed by me. We will figure something out.
