96 Swede- Where are the numbers please?
« on: June 24, 2008, 05:18:40 AM »

Dear Guys,

What are (and where are) the locations of the serial numbers on a 96 Swede, if someone wants to check to see if one  is "all matching" ?  (Regular Swede, not an M-38).

   Thanks very much,

Mannyrock

it should be on top of the bolt handle and on side of the receiver....it should literally be stamped everywhere in plane sight....I did come across a Spanish 1916 i believe it was...Its a small ring like the 96 and it looks very much like it....This rifle had no serial numbers at all....

I think my 96 CG has 19 locations of serial numbers.  I haven't taken my bolt apart but the firing pins are numbered also.   The stock and handgard are stamped in the barrel channel.  Some cleaning rods were stamped but some were not.   Here are some numbered parts that come to mind.

Stock
handguard
receiver
bolt handle
bolt sleeve
bolt release
barrel
barrel bands (upper and lower)
floor plate
nose cap
rear sight
rear sight adjustment
safety lever
cocking piece
There's a couple more but they escaped with my mind.
