I think that if he chooses Hitlery as his running mate, McCain won't have a chance.   Sometimes I wonder if it might be a good thing if he(obama) were elected.
If McCain wins, I think he could fracture and divide conservative Americans, and possibly redefine what it means to be conservative.
If Obama wins, I think conservatives will be galvanized more than ever.  Obama is an enemy to our counry.
I myself am a type of recovering liberal.  I always thought of myself as a liberal kind of guy, until I first laid eyes on Bill Clinton, must have been around August 1991.  I knew whatever he was, I was the complete opposite.  I started listening to Rush soon after, and so I've now had about 17 years of recovery. ;D
I still like Rush OK, but I sometimes think he comes up short.
I can not help but think someone or some organization is really pulling the strings.  I think they are out to get us.   >:(
I know there are a LOT of screwballs and knuckleheads in the United States of America.  They have been brainwashed with televsion and modern pop culture.
Obama, if elected, will be a disaster, and a traitor to our country.  He will sell out the American people.  ( Like this has not already been going on  :( )
I think a president obama would galvanize true Americans, and we will not tolerate what he has in mind for our country.
Maybe, just maybe, some on the other side might take an honest look at themselves, and come to their senses.
Wishfull thinking perhaps, but that is what Bill Clinton did to me.

I did notice that all three candidates( when there were three) did suck up to AIPAC, one of the biggest Lobby Organization in the country and to put the cherry on top,Obama wore two national flags on his lapel when he spoke to them...... SHAME !!!!

There are NO, NONE, ZERO, Nada, Nyet upsides to Obama becoming President. If you can't understand that then clearly you are part of the problem not part of the solution. McCain is a pitiful excuse for the office as well but is light years better than the muzlim in sheep's clothing.

He can lie and tell us he is Christian all he wants but the day he sits down in public and has bacon and eggs for breakfast, a ham sandwich for lunch and pork chops for supper is the only day I'll believe a word coming from his mouth. Muzzies are expected to lie any time it is convenient for them to do so to further their agenda but to eat pork is an absolute no no for them. I'm willing to beat no has or ever will see him eat pork.

I'd love to see him eat pork myself. And to those who think muslims are not a threat, they need to wake up to the reality of this world.

Hillary will become the VP ,the big shots in the Dem. party will push for this.
McCain will not stand a Chance ,both Obama and Clinton are excellent speakers and good at debate.
People who know McCain say that when he is backed in a corner he acts like that Capitan Quiege ,in the movie the, Cain Mutiny, some of you have seen it ,remember how he cracked up at the end during the court martial?
Obama knows this , and as Conservatives we did not vote him in to where he is now ,in States that let you vote for either party in a primary ,the Dem's came out in hoards and voted McCain knowing he was a dope,,,,and this needs to stop.
This not just an election ,this is the all out takeover of the United States ,and the Liberal Communist know they may never get this Chance again.
So in 4 years they will do whatever they need to in order that they stay in power ,even if they have got to trash the Constitution.
lrs is is right something else is going on here ,i work in the Oil Field in its higher management ,and we can see no reason for Gas prices to have gone up 150% in one year.
The liberals harped on us for years to get rid of our SUVs ,Global Warming ,that hasn't even been pr oven.
High energy cost has all but ruined the middle class ,nothing has been done to secure the border for real , thus taking your standard of living down ,while bringing it up in country's like Mexico ,with cheap labor.
Bush and McCain are all for the North American Union , so are the Democrats ,And China holds most of our Debt now ,and China has invested heavily in South America.
I don't think there is a lot of difference in the nominees now ,its just a fight over who is the better Commie.
In this time i Command ,That you take the Secular to Jerusalem .

Good post, imho.
I myself tend to be very carefull about what I say on the internet.
For all I know you guys could be working for the CIA, FBI, the BBG's, CFR, or some other alpabetized organization (though I don't really believe it)
I find myself wondering if this might really come about.  In private conversations with family and friends this actually gets talked about.
I do think someone or some group is out to destroy this country.  I don't think they are going to willingly stop.
All checks and balances that our founding fathers built into our system of government seem to have been eroded.
It doesn't look good. :(

Graybeard stated clearly the problem.  Not enough conservative, constructionist voters in local elections including school boards electing constructionist candidates.  Too many liberals and special interest groups that want and have enacted liberal general welfare issues to control the public instead of enforcement of individual responsibility.  Corrections that lie with local parole boards and sentencing by local judges that are confirmed by local voters each election cycle.  The same with no or little attendance by conservatives at local school board meetings in opposition to liberal teaching concepts, lack of corporal punishment by teachers, and little or no input into class curiculum.  No input into the planning and zoning commissions in each city.  No attendance at city council meetings, except to complain about a single issue, not to provide alternative solutions to concepts proposed.  Not enough rallies or peaceful demonstrations by conservatives about individual rights compared to the collective mentality.  Not enough neighborhood watch programs where your neighbors patrol the neighborhood and enforce compliance with laws.  Not enough common sense from Americans who think emotionally instead of logically.   Too many friends with liberal concepts and not enough opposition to their ideas because we don't want them to think we are bigoted or close minded or insulting instead of attempting to enlighten them to the real world.  Too many people bragging about how much money they made last year, instead of one parent staying at home and raising children with the moral values necessary to be responsible citizens.  Too many people looking for a free ticket from government, while not doing the work and they are our friends.  Not enough people objecting or not participating in youth organizations like the Boy and Girl Scouts.  Too many corrections on language designed to be politically correct calling a garbage man, instead of sanitation engineer.  These things can be corrected at home and not on a National level.

If you read some of the web sites pertaining to the Constitution ,and the ones that break each Amendment down explaining what it means , Not only do we as Americans have the right to fire the Government any time we feel it isn't living by the Constitution or the Bill of Rights ,it is written IT is our duty as Americans to do so.
Soon we will see how far this has gone , Out of the three branches of Government only one is not in violation of its oath of office .
The Executive , The Presidency ,it has been in violation for decades.
The Legislative , Congress ,that one speaks for itself.
Judicial ,The supreme Court ,who's mere existence is to interpret all laws ,and make sure those laws conform to the Constitution.
Soon the SC is going to render a verdict on the DC gun ban , it has no other choice but to strike it down. Failure to do so will make every other decision made by that Court in its History pertaining to the 2nd Amendment in its favor ,wrong.
Thus making the SC nothing more than puppets to the other two branches ,damaging forever its credibility.
It is the Sworn duty of any one of the three of these Branches , The SC being the only one in not in Violation at this time ,to dismiss the other two in Lu of Impeachment , and seeing how the Commander and Chief and the Congress are the ones being Impeached ,Appoint the head of the Joint Chiefs of staff ,into the Office of Commander and Chief.
Then calling for emergency elections ,Harsh stuff ? you would be surprised how many times this has almost happened.
If all three are in Violation ,Then it is the Duty of the Head of The Joint Chiefs ,to do this on his own.
What these Clowns hope and know ,what the American People don't know is ,The Constitution is the Law of the Land Bar None.
NOT some funny little document written a long time ago to make the British go away.
But you would be surprised how many Americans even know what the 3rd Amendment is ,or says ,or two other very important ones ,the 4th and the 5th ,these two are abused every day right under our noses.
In this time i Command ,That you take the Secular to Jerusalem .

The citizens of our United States have been glued to the two party system for so long they have forgotten that there are other choices.
If you want the constitution enforced, and your rights (as well as responsibilities) returned then vote Libertarian.
If you want to continue with taxation to support a non-responsive government then continue to vote for the parties that have made us subjects of the American government. It will only change when we show them that we have changed.

John Lott: Reaction to D.C. Gun Ban Decision
Tuesday , July 01, 2008

By John R. Lott, Jr.

The Supreme Court's decision Thursday affirming that people have a right to own guns evoked all sorts of reactions. Let's just go through a few of them.

1) One of the strangest was Barack Obama's claim that the court had essentially confirmed what had been his positions all along.

Telling the FOX Business Network yesterday that he had "said consistently that I believe that the Second Amendment is an individual right, and that was the essential decision that the Supreme Court came down on." The Supreme Court struck down the DC handgun ban on the grounds that it violated an individual's right to own a gun. So has Obama consistently supported individual's rights to own guns and opposed the DC handgun ban?

Obama has taken some flack over the last week for his flip-flops on issues ranging from NAFTA to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to the public financing of campaigns, but the magnitude of this flip-flop surely adds new dimensions to the definition of chutzpah.

Last November, Obama's campaign told the Chicago Tribune that "Obama believes the DC handgun law is constitutional." After Obama's statement yesterday supporting the Supreme Court striking down the ban, Obama's campaign disowned the statement as an “inartful attempt” to characterize his position.

The problem is that he personally voiced support for the DC ban at other times. Earlier this year, he did this himself, not something that he could blame on a staffer. ABC 7's Washington, DC anchor Leon Harris asked Obama: "One other issue that's of great importance here in the district as well is gun control. You said in Idaho recently - I'm quoting here - 'I have no intention of taking away folks' guns,' but you support the D.C. handgun ban." Obama's simple response: "Right." When Harris said "And you've said that it's constitutional," Obama is clearly caught on tape nodding his head yes.

But there is more to his support of city gun bans than his statements on the DC ban. As the Associated Press described his 2004 vote on a gun control bill: "He also opposed letting people use a self-defense argument if charged with violating local handgun bans by using weapons in their homes. The bill was a reaction to a Chicago-area man who, after shooting an intruder, was charged with a handgun violation."

The notion that Obama has consistently believed that there is an individual right to own guns is also hard to fathom. Here is politician who supported a ban on handguns in 1996, who supported a ban on the sale of all semi-automatic guns in 1998 (a ban that would encompass the vast majority of guns sold in the US), who advocated in 2004 banning gun sales within 5 miles of a school or park (essentially a ban on virtually all gun stores), as well as worked in other ways to support bans.

With new legal cases being filed against Chicago's gun ban this past week, somebody in the media is going to eventually have to ask Obama why he not only never spoke out against Chicago's ban, but more so why he actively supported it. As a state senator, why did Obama vote against a popular bi-partisan bill that would have prohibited prosecution of otherwise law-abiding citizens for violating local gun prohibition ordinances in Illinois if the gun was used to stop a home invasion by violent criminals.

Also, how will Obama reconcile his new position with the fact that all the members of the Supreme Court whom he reveres and whom his appointees would be like voted that the Second Amendment is not an individual right? These justices went even further and argued that even if the Amendment guaranteed such a right, DC's ban does not infringe people's rights to own guns. Wouldn't his nominees to the Supreme Court vote to reverse this close 5-to-4 decision by the court?

2) Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, whose city had a lawsuit similar to the case just decided in DC filed against it yesterday, attacked the Supreme Court's decision as favoring those with power. Daley claimed: "It is frighting that America loves guns. And to me, I think that this decision really places those who are rich and those who are in power will always feel safe. Those who do not have the power do not feel safe." But, ironically, as Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass wrote just last week, there are two types of people who are currently allowed to have handguns in Chicago, "The criminals. And the politicians. . . . In Chicago, our politicians often go around surrounded by armed bodyguards on the city payroll. Or they walk our streets strapped. Or they know a guy who knows a guy in some suburb, and they become deputized peace officers so they can carry. . . ."

Mayor Daley has his armed bodyguards. Other politicians either have guards or carry guns themselves. Apparently, these politicians understand how useful guns are at providing protection when it comes to their own safety. But it is not the powerless people, who live in the high crime south side of Chicago, who get the permission to have a gun. Nor is the taxi cab driver, who is mandated to pick up fares no matter how dangerous they look or risk losing their license.

3) District of Columbia Mayor Adrian Fenty had his own prediction: "More handguns in the District of Columbia will only lead to more handgun violence."

But the gun ban hardly improved DC's crime rates when the ban was adopted. The ban went into effect in early 1977, but since it started there is only one year (1985) when D.C.'s murder rate fell below what it was in 1976. But the murder rate also rose dramatically relative to other cities. In the 29 years we have data after the ban, D.C.'s murder rate ranked first or second among the largest 50 cities for 15 years. In another four years, it ranked fourth.

Will DC's crime rates now soar? Unless DC's police department were to crumble, the opposite is more likely to occur. We have seen the same phenomenon occur when opponents of right-to-carry laws claimed over and over again that there would be shootouts when new state laws were passed. Of course, their fears were never justified. Gun control proponents have more at stake with the Supreme Court's decision than just the loss of the ability to ban guns. They also risk losing their credibility.

*John Lott is the author of Freedomnomics and a senior research scientist at the University of Maryland.

Excellent article regarding Obama's stand on firearms.  Flip flop statements and very contradictory.  How anyone could vote for this man considering his integrity is unbelievable.  At least McCain filed an amicus in support of Heller and firearms ownership is an individual right.  He has been consisitent in this view even though he has voted for some restrictions.  One is illegal to yell fire in a movie house when one doesn't exist, so it is a limitation on free speach.  I don't advocate, nor support any firearms restrictions, but Obama definitely wants to keep the right but prevent the its use.  Dah.
