SS receiver or just barrel ?
« on: October 20, 2008, 06:04:59 PM »
I want to put together a 20ga ultra slugger/50 cal ML combo, with TH stock.
A SS ML barrel is a must, but is a SS receiver an advantage ? are all the parts in the receiver SS ?

I was  thinking a 45-70 Ultra hunter, throwing the barrel in the trash :), and getting it fitted for a 20 ga ultra slugger barreel and a SS 50 cal. about 640.00 total.

or just getting a 20 TH stock USH and having a ss 50 cal barrel fitted, about 425 total.

any thoughts ?

Thanks,

Throw that SS 45-70 barrel in the classifieds instead of the trash. ;)

I seriously don't even think the SS barrel is essential, I've never needed SS, all of mine are blued or browned with shiny bores, SS barrels still need to be cleaned and oiled properly.  ;)
