Single six 32 mag
« on: May 22, 2008, 12:52:44 AM »
I just heard a rumor that Ruger is building them again, I missed getting one the first time around. This is about the smallest handgun that I can shoot well. I've had bearcats and the J frame S&W 22 and they were just too little for me to hit with.

Do you know if they will have adjustable sights?

Be interesting to see if they do start 32 production again. Who/where was this talker?
BTW, they did make "Vaquero"-style single sixes in 32.

Talk is just that - talk.  can't always put much faith in it sometimes.  Only saying this because twice Ruger has had the .32 mag Single Sixes and twice they were dropped primarily for poor sales.  i just can't see them going this route again.  I'd think they'd push a run of the .327 mags before another .32 H&R mag run.

They did make Vaquero Single Six in .32 mag cuz I had one and had it listed here for sale not long ago but it's gone now. Dunno for sure when they were made but it was at least a year or more ago when I bought that one.

I love the 32's. I now use them everywhere I used to use a 22 as a killing gun... ;D

I've had a 6.5" since 1985, it is one of my favorite revolvers. A load of HS6 and a lead bullet is the most accurate gun I've ever owned. It is at a shop now having the barrel shortened to the 4+ incher I wanted to begin with but could not find.

I bought a 3" S&W, K frame, 32 long at a garage sale the other day. Figured to resell it for a little profit, but made the mistake of takeing it out to the range. The little gun shoots better than any small gun I've ever owned. I did a little load tinkering and got it down to about 2.5" at 25 which is about what most of my large revolvers shoot. I know - - the long isn't in the same league as the H&R mag or 327, I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, I don't carry. I guess it will make me a pocket gun if I get a bad feeling some time. I just have a hard time being as rational about what I need and don't need as I used to.

I have one in ss with the birds head grip that I like.  Had it bead blasted 'cause I couldn't see the sights at high noon with the bright polish.  I had a Freedom Arms 97 in 32 mag but sold it to finance a bunch of other purchases.  If Ruger made a ss single action in 32 (or 327) with adj. sights in a similar size frame, i.e. the 50th anniversary Blackhawk size, My Holy Grail will be found.  I think the 357-sized frame would make sense with the length and pressures involved with the 327.  My SP 101 in 32 is the gun for shooting goats here on Angela's Acres and it works quite well.  But to Angela, a gun is a tool and not a treasured work of art, so it may be laid in the dirt with or without blood and gore on it and it will be returned to the house when she is done butchering but not wiped off.  Had it been my now gone mod. 16-4, we would need counseling or worse.  Anyway, stainless, strong, adjustable sights and reasonably priced for we poor suckers who labor is my wish.  5 1/2" if SA.  Real life 101; 32 shooters take what we can get and it usually isn't much.

Boo hoo.  Poor sad 32 Webbshooter.

I have two of the Single Six's in 32 H&R Mag, both the "Baby Vaqueros" with the fixed sights, and just LOVE them. One is Stainless, with the Blued Steel short grip frmae, and the other is BCC with the aloy XR-3 Red grip frame, and both have Elk Stag grips on them. The SS one used to be a Birdshead till I changed the grip frame, and I still have the BH frame if I ev er want to put it back on.

Those of you that have read my posts in the past know that I HATE adjustable sights on a SA revolver. It just destroys the fine lines of the gun and makes them ugly, to me. I tend to find one or two loads that work in my revolvers and stick to them forever, and simply adjust the fixed sights to shoot where I want them and use the same load forever in that pistol. LOL

I know, I'm kind of old fashoned, but I also keep my pants up with suspenders, too.  LOL

The current load I've been using in both of mine, and in my Marlin CB in 32 Mag, is Starline casses, CCI small pistol primers, 1cc of FFFG APP, and a 100 grn RNFP cast bullet.  Got about 2000 of them loaded up now, and probibly another 500 or so empty casses to reload when I get a slow day next winter. LOL

This load has taken two 'youts with the SS Ruger, and one with the Marlin, simply 'cause that's what was handy when I seen the 'youts passing through the back yard. LOL
