Actually, I think that I might move up there in "Hill" too.   Sounds like a great place to live.   Although I don't know how comfortable I would feel with having bears going through my trash.

Was a quarter to 7 the other day and I look out the right winda of the cabin and figger I jest seen a black lab.  I'm thinkin, man that bear has a big arse....and it ain't got no tail!

Well it come out from ahind the bush and danged ifin it ain't that danged bear, all 400 pounds or so of em.  He dances here an there, comes to the end a the cabin, an takes a left right up the hill fer you know what!

So I greet em with the 454 Casull an he's all of 20 yards off.  Told em straight up I din't want em in the danged trash.  He sways his head back an forth, woofs, and decides it ain't in his best interests to be messin with this here Coug.  Musta took it serious as I ain't seen em since :)

Still beatin the fins off the trout and havin the time of my life.  My new Boss jest took me to one a his "secret" ponds. We're talkin 3 pound brookies!

We got work commin out the croggetts at the shop, life is good.

UPDATE! I am old and senile so I may have already busted this news out. Ina went an pult a NH Moose tag and the guide is poppin over for a brewski tomorrow.  We're gonna get into some serious moose strategy.

Sold off the 12 foot boat with the 15 hoss motor, just ain't no need for it here abouts. This is prime canoe country.

If I count right I got me one handgun, the 454 Ragin bull, 3 pump shotguns, 28 ga Rem, 20 ga Rem (3"), an a 12 ga 3 an a half inch duck stomper.

Rifles, I kept the 30-06 Wby UL, picked up the Kimber in 308, and hung on to the Rem pump in 30-06.

These days that's about all my shoulder can take, man I done a number on it wiff them elephant guns

I gotta quit playin with all them danged guns and settle down to some serious meat findin.  Be Awrite!

Course that's this week, next week I may just be crusin for another lever crankin cannon.  Hmmm, there was that 450 Marlin Darlin....

Wondered how long it was gonna take for the body to get the message to the brain that all those hard kicking guns were hurting it and you'd wise up and start using more sane guns. My right shoulder don't even like the .30-06 and 7-08 these days but I still use them some. That little Browning 1885 LW in .243 Win. seems to be getting taken more and more these days.

With the arthritis in my hands getting worse the heavy kicking handguns are seeing less and less use too.

Sure glad to hear all is well up your way with you and Ina and the moose hunt is on. Iffen I ever make it back up in that part of the world I'm gonna be shore to look you up. I was in Nashua once many many long years ago before I even knew what a computer was tho.

Ole GrayBearded One

This gettin old stuff is for the danged birds!  Never thought much on it, just figgered I'd be a shootin them ICBM guns till death did us part.

But as you point out, the brain catches up with the kilt muscles that have been pounded to pulp.  It was fun though

One thing about bein old though, ya start bein more honest with yoself.  Once I come to grip with the fact that the bigbores were a thing of the past for me I settled down to do some real purdy shootin with that 308 and 30-06 stuff.

I still maintain to hit em with somethin BIG, but only if ya can handle it. Once the poundins take ahold of a man, he'll do better with less because he has to. Too, shots will be a lot closer since we can't see to far no more :)
