Noticed something unusual this morning.
« on: July 03, 2008, 01:43:01 PM »
Sat down this morning and read the local newspaper. On page 15 was an article over a half page in length from the AP on Freedom Arms Company. Later I went to the barber shop for my 9 o'clock appointment and there lay the Avalanche Journal from Lubbock, TX. On the front page was large picture and an article about Cowboy Action shooting. I see very little in the newspapers showing anything about guns in a positive light. Two articles in one day really came as a surprise.

That comes as a shock to me also. You'll never see positive gun stories here in Chicago. There was a 90 something year old lady a couple of years ago that shot and killed an intruder in her home and it barely made the paper and definitely was not on the front page.

BTW
JOE HORN of Pasadena, Tx was NO BILLED by a grand jury for his part in protecting another home owners property by killing the thieves.
Local Mexican leaders were "SHOCKED" that the grand jury followed the letter of the law, saying, if it had been a Mexican who did this he would have bee indicted. I SERIOUSLY DISAGREE.
Now, from what I have seen of these folks, their apartment would never have been empty because of the number of families who inhabit ONE apartment,,,AND,,,,they steal from and kill each other at alarming rates.
It is also notable to mention that the case was presented too the grand jury without any charges.

I think it's the internet. The printing press and the pamphleters broke the Catholic Church's monopoly on information, and broke the power of the aristocrats. The neoaristrocracy had control of the news media and relied on that control to advance their population control agenda (no conspiracy, just common interests being recognized). The internet allows people to exchange information around that.

The news media has to be truthful and fair in order to survive. For now. They'll find a way to grab control back again.

I was kinda surprised a with the Joe Horn deal, only because it was not his house he was protecting and the 911 tape.
I am very happy it turned out the way it did.
This decision by the Grand Jury sends a very good message IMHO.
You break into some ones house and you may be shot. ;D
