Atllaw and Cheesehead, I figured you guys would post a pic. Nice scooters you got there. I also have a blue 1990 flhs but I can't seem to find any pics of it. It's been sitting for a while, I need to clean it up and get rid of it. I  don't get the chance to ride the one enough, I don't need two.

I wish the bugs were the only problem. I got a slow leak I can't find in my rear tire. It pumps up and holds for a while but if I leave it sit it'll be flat when I go to ride it. I tried soaping it up but it's such a slow leak it didn't bubble anywhere. It went flat over the winter and I'm hoping it was just the cold and the tire rim just needs to be cleaned and the tire reseated.

Anyway maybe there are some closet bikers here that will post some more pics.

It does take a long time, lots of nooks and crannies and chrome doo dads that need to be waxed and polished. My 13 year old son was a big help. I did the waxing and he did the polishing and then I showed him the parts he missed. ;D

Dale, I bought my son a Honda 50 in 1974 and it was a good bike. He got all the good out of it. I wish I still had it. Carl L.

Dale It's nice to think about the old day's sometimes isn't it? I made a mistake on the bike that I bought for my son it was a Honda 70. He was 11 yrs old then. He went to bigger bikes and started racing them and hill climbing. When he quit that he got a street bike. That was the last bike that he had. Carl L.

Yes it is very nice to think about the dirt bikes I drove as a kid!!!!!! ;D This brings back a lot of great memories I have not thought about in years. Here is another picture I pulled off the net of the last dirt bike I owned. I spent more time with the front wheel in the air than it did on the ground. :o I did some serious hill climbing with this bike and drove it like a mad man. I can't believe I am living today with the kind of crashes I had with this bike. Dale

Dunno Mike, some folks try to tell me I should but so far they've not convinced me. I tell them that GOD washes it for me each time it rains so why should I waste my time doing it.  ;D

Got no photos of the bikes I used to own all were HDs except one Honda. Lak I sed I outgrew that phase of my life long years ago.

GB if you are counting on the rain to wash it then it has had few baths. From what I understand you guys have not received much rain the last few years. Dale

My first bike was a 750 norton commando that someone had turned into a chopper, king and queen seat, bayonet sissy bar and 13 inch extensions on the forks with no rake. I could barely get my toes on the ground. I had no experience on a street bike (rode some dirt bikes) and wrecked it after owning it for about twenty minutes. It was still rideable but I was very nervous on it. I ended up selling it because I needed lawyer money. I wish I still had it.

I bought a honda shadow a few years later after I got some money for a mustang that some woman totalled on me (long story) mostly because I could get my feet solidly on the ground.

After a year and a half or so I sold it and bought my first harley, a '79 sportster, bored out 1000, shaved heads, heavy cams and drag pipes that my neighbors loved. ::)

I met my wife just before that and she really liked to ride so I ended up trading the sporty in on a '90 electraglide sport which I still have.

Two years ago I picked up the '98 ultra classic in the picture in my first post, awesome bike, rides dmooth with air suspension, fuel injection (which I love), tons of extra chrome, upgraded stereo system w/ cd player, intercom, cb radio, cruise control, air adjustable seats. It has 70,000 miles on it, but had a dealer rebuild after 50,000.

Unfortunately I probably won't put the miles on it like the previous owner did but I still enjoy riding it.

Not me!   ;D  A friend's wife once called me the oldest juvenile delinquent she knows!   :D  I had a Harley in my teens I used for daily transportation; I wish I had that bike now!   :(   I rode occasionally through the years but always said I'd never get another 'cause my hair grows out and I get real stupid!

To continue:  Well, some years ago my dear wife and I were having a discussion, which usually start with "now Richard..."  To be short, it involved our youngest girl, who had graduated from college and was out on her own, and someone she was dating.  End result being I had no say in who came into my house.   :'(  So, I said to myself, "self!" there is something I can control, my hair and my vehicles!   ;D  Now there is two things Kathie does NOT like... motorcycles and long hair!   ::)  Sooooo ... ;D

Hence the bike.  I haven't felt so in control since I flew Cobras in a free fire zone!  I love my murdersickles!  And my long suffering wife...

And (I'm having internet connection difficulties and never know when I'm going off line and lose everything!):

There was only one thing missing... Brothers to ride with who I had something in common with other then motorcycles ( and drinking beer and getting stupid! - apparently that isn't just looks!   :D)  Lo and behold what do I find!?  the USMVMC!   :o  Now, if there's one thing Kathie likes LESS then motorcycles, it's bikers!   ;D  So, a couple years later, I get patched!

I would like to find a group of guys to ride with too. The guys I used to ride with have either moved away or passed away. I never joined a club, the only clubs around here are the outlaws and other similar clubs and seriously in my younger days that might have been okay but now that I'm older I don't need the b.s. that goes with those kinds of clubs. I'm not a veteran so those clubs are out too.

I don't drink a lot anymore or do drugs and don't want to be riding with someone that's drunk anyway. I saw a good friend of mine, Bob, dump his bike right in front of me and had another friend, Phil, fly off his bike and smash his head on a tree, both from drinking. Bob was okay but Phil only lived long enough in a hospital bed to say goodbye to his 3 year old son. I never want my kids standing next to a bed for me like that, so I don't drink when I ride.

I guess I could try the Harley Owners Group but that's like the diet coke of bikers.

My first and only bike was a 1984 FLT that had been remodeled to look like an FLHS. Was at the 96 Olympic kayaking venue in Tennessee when I saw it for sale.  Went home got my motorcycle license and two weeks later I flew to Tennessee, picked up the bike and rode it back to Colorado. That was an adventure, rain, a breakdown, Georgia O'Keefe skies, more rain, rush hour traffic. All with less than 5 hours of riding experience. Eventually sold her to buy a house but still think about her.
