New Vaquero adjustable sites

Has anyone put adjustabe sites on a Ruger New Vaquero? I would like to have one done for my wife in 45 LC.

Isn't that against the law or something?  ::)

I think the BlackHawk suggestion would be far more pratical than ruining a perfectly good Vaquero! I know the grip is different but hey, I'd live with it before butchering the Vaquero.

 I've seen a few that had smith j frame rear sight fitted to it and since i like the smooth line's of the vaquero better than the square boxey look of the blackhawk i have thought having it done my self because i also prefer adjustable sights. jmtc

I have 3 BH's already, but my wife likes the Vaquero but wants adjustable sites.

Asking why??  Hmmmmmm well maybe it's kinda why do people get 357's converted to 44 special, why not but a 44 mag and shoot specials.... ??? ???

I think she just likes the way it feels in her hand, she wants it as side arm while hunting or hikeing through the woods.. I carry my 45 BH and she wants her own, and wants it her way... ::) so I have to try and get her what she wants..

I figured as much..hers always has to end up costing more than mine.

  Going back to the original suggestion, it'll proberly be much cheaper to simply change the grip frame out than have the topstrap machined for the new sight you'd need to buy also. 
  The .357 -> .44 special comparison rather than using .44 specials in a .44 amg I don't see as being the same.  Can't buy a .44 special chambered Ruger revovler but one CAN buy a adj sighted Ruger SA revovler.

To answer your question, yes it has been done. Contact Jim Stroh or David Clements. I believe Alan Harton has done it also.

ive had it done to a bearcat and will have it done on my next project a vaquero in 475. Any of the good gunsmiths can do it. dave clements does nice work and is real resonalble.
