gimme the skinny on 10mm 200 grain moulds

hey veral i am looking at a bullet for the 10mm and i see beartooth bullets offers a 200 gr bullet that i believe is your design?

  Beartooth probably has an LBT design, if they say it it is, as they did start out with our molds, lube etc.  However they haven't bought anything from LBT for around 12 years.---------------------    May I strongly suggest that you check out what MontanaBulletWorks.com  has to offer?  I can enthusistically endorse their quality and the integrity of Dave and Marcia at MTW, but due to the feedback from their customers, (complaints) I can't endorse Beartooth in any respect.

  I recommend the WFN for all 10 MM pistols.  200 gr can be sent off with wonderful power from the 10MM, but I believe I would lead toward a 180 gr for most uses.  For the 40 S&W, go for 160 gr for best speed and killing punch.  The 10 MM will probably do best with gas checked bullets, whereas the lower pressure and velocity limits of the S&W does not require checks.

i'm not a real big fan of the gas checks.   for what i need, plain base does fine.   i get good accuracy from the mould i have with very little lead problems; but it is a two holer and i was hoping for a four holer plain base wfn.  whaddya think?  could you cook something like that up?

  Best way to find out for sure is to send me an order.  I should be able to have it in UPS hands within two days to a week at most.
  I think most people would be happiest with plain base in all the 10 MM's if the bores are smooth, especially if they use LBT bullet lube.   When using LBT bullet lube, if some leading should be ecountered, which will probably happen only after running a clipfull or three through rapid fire.  Just let the gun cool and shoot a few more of the same load at a slow firing rate and the lead will be cleaned from the bore.  IF the load doesn't lead normally.  If you hot loads lead slightly,  take some light loads to the range with you for bore cleaning at the end of your range session.  Let the bore cool, and pop a half dozen light loads through.  Wipe up the rest of the gun but never clean the bore other than this, as long as it removes all visable leading.  The lube film in the bore will protect the bore from rust and corrosion for years of non use.  I have guns with perfectly clean bores which have been stored for well over 10 years, much of it in rather adverse conditions. 

  The above does NOT apply to any other cast bullet lube that I know of.  None that I know of will self clean the bore of lead.  Some will give pretty good bore protection from corrosion, though I don't believe any will match LBT lube.
