My new favorite knife
« on: September 16, 2008, 05:12:43 AM »
I'll start by saying I've always been a fan of spyderco knives, for a year or so I carried a spyderco rookie. Then I started carrying a spyderco calypso jr with vg10 steel.I carried it for three,or four years, and it always did the job.About three months ago I bought my first mini-manix since then I've bought two more ,and the larger manix. The mini manix is anything ,but mini its a big strong knife that really cuts, and stays sharp for a good while. It has S30V blade steel.

The only thing wrong is that spyderco discontinued both the manix, and mini manix, thus the reason I bought a couple more. Many don't like the looks of spyderco knives to me they're perfectly designed to use. From their choice of handle materials, blade designs to great steels to choose from in their blades.

I own a few chris reeve Sebenza's,but I always end up carryin my spydercos. If you can find a manix,or mini manix I recommend you give one a try.

I've carried the Native in S30V for several years now, and it makes a good carry knife.  I did re-grind the blade into a full flat grind, which thinned the edge a lot and makes it a much better cutter.
