How to get a C&R license?

How do you go about getting a C&R license? Is it worth it? How old does a firearm need to be to be considered a C&R? Do you know what the cost of such a license may be? Thanks in advance Dale

 Call ATF they'll mail you the forms. Fill out 2 copies one to your chief law enforcement officer . mail other and 30 bucks to the ATF. It will appear in your mail box and keep you broke there is just something about having a gun delivered to your door ;D ;D ;D

I some how don't think they can seeing as they are going to do a through background check on you and anything they would find on you would include anything you have done locally. Dale

I'm not worried about that. The town I live in has a gang problem, firearm registration and "assault style" weapons ban. I'm wondering if they can deny my application or restrict my purchases.

In most cases if your local laws are tougher than the state or fed then the local is what you will have to go by , and yes the local can stop or prevent you from getting this lic.

That's why you have to send a copy to the local law enforcement , if there is a problem they will inform the ATF and then you may or may not get it .

This was how it was explained to me by both my county sheriff and my county comm. who is also a FFL holder .

never had a problem with the locals they have to take action to deny the lic.and most are too busy or too lazy to do anything
