Firearms Safety 101 for DOGS!
« on: December 18, 2002, 08:56:39 AM »
I don't know how far this news story got out of my neck of the woods, but last night on the local news here in the Alamo City they ran a story about a dog that shot its owner!

Yes, it seems the IDIOT owner laid a loaded and unsafetied gun in the back of his pickup truck, where his hunting dog stepped on the trigger and it went off, wounding the owner.

I guess soon we are not going to be permitted in the woods with any dog that has not undergone extensive gun safety training. You know, to protect the innocent dogs from STUPID owners and whatnot.

I suppose this guy will still be allowed to own firearms and carry them loaded into the woods with the rest of us hunters, assuming he recovers from his self-inflicted wounds. And people ask me why I like to hunt alone.
There is no more humbling experience for man than to be fully immersed in nature's artistry.

Don't know if this guy will be hunting any more or not.  As of the noon broadcast it was unknown if he'll survive or not.
