Midsouth Shooters Supply
« on: June 23, 2008, 09:40:01 AM »
As I was in need of some more brass and bullets for my .22-250, I went shopping, and Midsouth came up the cheapest by about 75 cents under one place, and about $5 cheaper than the place I'd been using for years, so i placed my order on the 19th. It just came today, courtesy of the brown truck, and I must say that the box it came in was almost impossible to open. They sure didn't want anything to fall out!  Everything was in order and in excellent shape, too. It was packed nice and tight, nothing sliding around. I am pleased with the condition  of the merchandise
( I don't think anyone could have hurt that box ) and the delivery time, too.

 They'll be getting more orders.

I have just placed and order with them for some One Shot and their 34 grain bullets. I find myself ordering more and more from them. The only bummer is they do not carry Winchester brand. If I want Winchester brass or ammo, I have to go some where else. :(

Make sure when you order that it is in stock. I ordered a Lyman 2500 Pro magnum and I got it in 3 business days as most items. For out of stock items - you could be waiting a long time. If I have to have a particular item, I oder some where else, other wise I choose an alternate.

snappopcrack,
You need to call and ask what the hold up is.  MidSouth has always been immediately up front with me about orders.  If they are "out of stock", and you need something immediately, better go somewhere else.  MidSouth is a middleman wholesaler who does not have a storefront of their own.  They buy from manufacturers and ship to customers.  They are, therefore, not always in control of stock and if something is unavailable you need to ask rather than leave it as a standing order.  They will treat you right.

This was a "pre stock" special and the expected wait when I ordered was about 30 days.
I realize they didn't have it "on the shelf" and the shipment delay is out of thier hands.
But I'm still bumm'n.

Here is the email I recieved from them in APRIL:
"We currently do not have a current expected ship date on this item.  They were supposed to ship the first week of April, but the vendor has not given us a new expected date.  As soon as we have a new date, we will immediately post it on our website."

Now the web site says expected shipment date of 6-25-08.

So I'm not mad, but it hasn't been the smoothest so far.

I started doing business with them before they moved to Clarksville when they were in New Market, Tennessee. They have always been prompt and informative. They will give you the strait info anytime you call. I only regret that as a Tennessee resident, I have to pay sales tax too. Their prices are usually better than Midway.

I always check with Midsouth if I need anything. If they have it, they get my order.
I was up at their place earlier this year with a small problem on an item, and they bent over backwards helping me out.

I ordered a set of Burris Signature Z rings that none of the stores in Tucson (Sportsman's Warehouse, Sports Authority, etc.) had in stock.  Midsouth's website said that they were a low inventory item.  So I'm thinking.... Yeah, they got 'em... Not!  Well, I was pleasantly surprise to receive an e-mail the next day saying they had been shipped.  I received the order four or five days later.  It takes awhile from TN to AZ, you know.

A nice, painless experience.

I don't order from them much because of TN's insane sales tax. But I will if it's something I can't find cheaper anywhere else. I've never had a bad experience with them though. Both on the phone and the net they have bent over backwards to answer any questions. Very good people.

I like midsouth, the only problem I ever had with them is they got hacked and someone may have gotten my credit card info. They responded very quickly and I cancelled my card just in case. Not their fault and they handled it very promptly. Yes i have ordered from them since then.

I've ordered a lot from Midsouth and the only complaint I have is with The Big Brown Truck. Ever since they went to only making right hand turns when delivering, it now always takes over a week to get my order delivered out here in Oregon. ;D

Midsouth is a class outfit. Fast delivery, and priced right. I had a delivery problem with an order a short time ago, not their fault. They went above and beyond to help get it fixed.

Midsouth and Midway both are class acts. When I want to buy anything for reloading, I check both web sites and maybe my local Sportsman's Warehouse if I can and make my choice from those three. Then I know that no one will offer a substantially better price. I really like all three of those merchants. All have great selection, price and service.

What a buy on those bullets. I think you will find them very satisfactory. I bought 1000 a while back and thinking about reordering due to low supply I am down to about 400 now.

Yes it is, if i could afford it i would have got 10 boxes. I don't think we will ever be able to buy bullets that low again.
