rifling in 336SS vs 336XLR

Hey ya all

I see on the Marlin Firearms webpage that the 336SS model has the traditional micro-groove rifling while the new 336XLR has a ballard type of rifling?

Can someone please fill me in on the pro's and con's here?

And with the longer barrel on the 336XLR, how well will it outperform the 336SS in effect and trajectory, for example when using LeverEvloution ammo (30-30)?

Does anyone have any comparative experiences?

I own a Marlin 336XLR 30-30 with Ballard riffling shooting the Hornady LeverEvloution ammo and at 100yds using this combination the rifle shoots a 3shot 1/4" group easy..

The more I read hear the more I hear about this exceptional accuracy most members are getting, and with factory ammo? Got any pictures of your groups on target?
