Looking for a Muzzleloader kit gun. Help
« on: July 25, 2008, 03:30:42 AM »
I am looking to build a 50 cal.  kit gun (hawken).  It is the first time I will attempt something like this and because of my lack of expertise, I don't want to spend to much money.  I am not going to spend $500 and mess it up if you get my drift.  That said, what are some reasonable kit guns?  Is there anything that is decent that is less than $250?  If so what? What do you recommend for a first timer and what do you believe I should not buy?

The possible shop is a good source of kit guns at your price.

Take a look at buds.

Thompson Center used to sell a Hawken kit gun with all the steel parts blued for you through their custom shop Fox Ridge Outfitters, all you needed to do was the wood and brass hardware.  I do believe the price is well above your target amount though.

Fox Ridge Outfitters at 1-800-243-4570 with your orders and questions.
