WHAT TURKEY TUBE FOR 20inch 835 ???
« on: March 07, 2008, 05:16:25 AM »
What tubes are you using in your 20 inch barrels and what yardage are you getting with your favorite ammo ??
i just put in a com-n-choke xxx and its great out to 40 yds but really seems to break up after that , only shells i've had the chance to try out in this new gun is winchester h.v. #5 3.5 and 3inch
any info would be great..
thanks..bap
p.s. 40 yds and under are what i normally kill my birds at but i love hunting feilds and sometimes they may be a bit farther than they appear..so i would really like to get a few more yds out of my gun..
thanks again...bap

You won't find a better patterning gun for the money period!!!  I have a comp-n-choke xxfull (had it for so long I don't remember the constriction) and have always shot winchester extended range #5's.  40yds is my max with this combo even though it still patterns out to 50. Heavy shot patterns best and would extend the range to about 50 but it is not recommended by comp-n-choke.  If I were going to try and make it a real turkey cannon I would go with a rhino choke tube(2nd choice would be primos undertaker) and nitro ammo.  they are an expensive combo but the results are incredible.  The only reason I don't have a rhino tube on my 835 is because i upgraded this past year to a beretta extrema (rhino tube and nitro ammo).
