Clean Matches - how many for you?
« on: August 15, 2003, 04:30:19 AM »
In November, 2002 - I shot a Clean Match.....something that never even crossed my mind before that!  Since then I have shot 4 more (seems that I woke up one day and started seein' targets.....)!

When did it happen for you?  And how many since then?  Just curious....this is not a competition for the most "Clean Matches".  This one of those things that I never thought I would achieve in CAS - again, proof positive that even a blind squirrel can find an acorn once in awhile ....

Howdy,

I'm still looking for my first clean match.  I get a stage or two or even three, but not a match, yet.

Had my one and only last month.  The way I shoot I figure it will probably be my last but no matter, the fun is still there.

I had my first clean match a couple of months ago.  :-D

It took me three years to get it!

I just hope that it won't be another three years before I have another one.

Ya did pretty good with those Remmies at the Great Northern Bear. I ain't got no clean matches yet. Them danged shotgun knockdowns what don't fall over like their sposed to always mess it up. Iffn' I had a long barreled shotgun I'd just reach on out there an push em over whilst hidin in that cloud of BP smoke an the RO wouldn't be none the wiser   :)

Goatlips swore never to divulge the origin of his moniker until he shot a clean match which he knew he never could.  Last fall he was wrong again:

Shot a clean match a month ago.  I have had a lot of matches where I had 1 miss.  I really like hitting the targets.  Whena pard gets a clean match ,  there ought to be a bonus in it for him.

My next clean match will make a total of one for me.  Guess that comes natural, since my mom never thought I kept a clean room, either.  Come to think of it, clean hands and a clean mind were also high on her list.  About resigned to being a clean failure.

Well, I hate to admit it but I got 5 so far.  Course I been doing this for almost 11yrs.  My first was in 95 shooting BP for the 3rd time.  Been told that ya can't shoot a "clean match" using BP.     All it takes is luck and the right wind direction.

I have never even come close, but I have shot on posses with pards that have and I think that is a heck of an achievement.
Lately Durde Dugan not only shot a clean match, but won his class and I do believe overall too. Now, that is my goal, should I live that long to pull it off.
The fun part is trying to do it.

Hellfire - very impressive!!!

Cuts Crooked - I have to agree with you; no target is too close or too big!!   Enjoyment is the name of the game.  I found that when I shot a 'Clean Un', my time was gauged with an hour-glass and Surprised?  Was I ever surprised!!!!.....made me grin for a week!  Then I promptly went out and had a gun full of misses at the next one......
