Opinions please

I have an opportunity to purchase a Remington at a pretty decent discount. For some reason I seem to be drawn to the 6.8 SPC. The only rifle I could find on Remingtons site that offered it was the 700 SPS ( though I'm sure I saw it in LTR somewhere). Any opinions?

Me too. I see Ruger chambers it in the Mini. I've had two minis and couldn't make them shoot so got rid of them. In a decient cartridge maybe I'd try again, but I know nothing about the 6.8. I assume it is some kind of 270, and that's all I know.

The military dropped the idea.  I see little use for the cartridge except for those who think deer hunting with an AR-15 style rifle is good for our public image.

A 30 Rem necked to 270 would probably only get 23-2500 fps. Kind of anemic.
