BSS STOCK?

I'm looking for a drop in fit BSS butt stock.. 

I bought a stock from a company in Yuba City Ca.  under the pretense it was a drop in fit.  Not even close.  When I contacted then the wanted $250 to fit the action to the stock.

AFAIK, there is no such thing as a "drop-in" stock for SxS shotguns, unless (maybe) an exact replacement is purchased from the manufacturer - and even that would most likely need fitting of some kind.

The best you could hope for, ala "drop-in" would be to buy any BSS stock that came from another BSS of the same gauge, install it, and hope for a faily decent match.

What Rangr44 says applies more to side lock guns than to box lock guns like the BSS. Still ya really never know until you try it if a different stock will fit up properly. Some minor fitting might be required.

On Browning Citori O/Us their 20, 28 and .410s are made on the same frame and the stocks tend to interchange pretty much. I'd not say that 100% of the stocks will fit 100% of the frames but they will come darn close to it. The same Japanese outfit made both the BSS and the Citori so I'd bet the stocks within same gauge would fit about as well as those on Citori's do.

If you can find a source of replacement or Miruko made stocks they should fit up fine for you. Gun Parts Corp the old Numrich Arms might have them as might Browning. Those would be my first two places to look.
