remington model 39

so i have my grandpas 22 a remington model 39, and figured tonight i would do a search to see if i could find an old stock somewhere out there that is in the original condition.  nothing.     so i  did a yahoo search on "remington model 39"..... nothing.   i googled it...nothing.   Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....
  it is pretty hard to find something that you cant learn about on the web.  i may have done it?

R U sure about the model name/number ?

Remington's owned Marlin for about a year now - but the Marlin 39 lever-action .22 is still labeled as a Marlin, and AFAIK, Remington never made a Model 39 anything. (Although they did once make a Model 37 target rifle)

A pic and/or all barrel & receiver markings, along with barrel length, would help determine what you have there.

Yup as fer as I know Remington never made anything with the model #39 so I think that's why you can't find anything on it on the internet it likely didn't exist. I'd recheck that model number.

it is stamped right into the barrel.   it is an OLD  gun.   you have to cock it before you fire it.  i will take some pictures tonight when i get home and post them up for you guys.   
   it is the first gun i ever shot.  first gun i killed with, and super accurate.  we used to shoot empty casings with them at 15 yards, and  grandpa used to light wood matches with it.   years ago the stock was cracked so dad made a new one for it, and foolishly threw away the original.  :'(    i recently got the gun to teach my kids with, and  thought it would be nice to find an original stock for it but that lead me to the current predicament.

my bad, i checked it again and it is a model 33.  i set it down, for whatever reason when it is sitting down it looks like it says 39.   weird.

Designed by Crawford C. Loomis and ready for shipment in July 1933. Manufactured through 1935 and replaced by the Model 41A. 263,547 33's produced. From Roy Marcot's book "Remington."
