Dan Wesson Grip removal
« on: August 30, 2008, 02:40:52 AM »
While removal of a dan wesson grip is usually very easy, sometimes it is not. As part of you maintenance schedule. you should remove that grip from time to time and lightly oil the tang and grip insert. I just bought a beautiful model 15(porky) and wanted to change grips. It had a pachmar presentation on it. This grip would not come off. I eventually had to destroy the grip to remove it. The metal insert that goes over the tang was seized on  ! So if you have never had you grip off. remove it and lightly oil that area. Even if it is a safe queen! just a little rust on a tight fitting part equals a royal pain in the glutius maximus!

No!!!!!! You had to destroy a set of Pachmayr Presentation grips!!!!
Man I would kill to find a nice one for sure.

By the way what you want to use is some anti-seize on those so you won't be stuck after a long set in a safe or a hot sweaty summer.
