Has anybody successfully mounted a bipod on a Survivor forend? Have the Huntsman forends ever been made in any of the laminates?     KODY

The Survivor forend has 2 spots for a sling swivel type mount works well for mounting bipods you can have a bipod and a sling on it with out modification. I've not seen a laminated forend for the Huntsman I have seen them in plastic though. You could modify a laminated for the Huntsman I think. Kurt

kody,

Yes, they made some camo laminate forends for the Huntsmans in the past, but not in cinnimon like I wanted. Coop on here has one of the camo lams for sure, and I think a couple others here have them as well. I should have just settled for the camo lam instead of waiting for the cinnimon, probably won't ever see them again now since they have been discontinued.

I took heart from your comments and proceeded to mount my Savage Varminter Bipod on the Survivor F/E. I put a closely fitted wood block inside the forward end of the Survivor F/E that had a press-fit splined nut in it . I drilled Thru the F/E and threaded the quick attach bolt for the bipod into the press-nut, tightened it down and mounted the bipod. About 1/2 hr. work. The proper location for the bipod may be elsewhere , but it goes on easy. There is a wood-screw type bolt holding the forward sling swivel that could be replaced with a longer one that could be run into the forward end of the wood block parallel to the barrel axis that might re-inforce the wood block mounting. The only thing lacking is the fore/aft positioning of the bipod, and if you wanted 1 more possible position a little further back, you could reverse the ends of the block as the vertical screw is positioned to the rear of the block.  KODY
