P239 -- opinions?
« on: January 31, 2003, 04:50:14 AM »
I'm SERIOUSLY considering getting a P239 in .375SIG for a summer carry.  My dealer has one in two-tone that seems to be calling my name.   I currently have a P245 that I dearly love, but I'd like something a bit smaller for when the weather warms up.

I'd love to hear pros and cons from current P239 owners.  Also, what kind of leather do you use with this weapon.

Thanks in advance,
brianb

I have owned both and no matter how well you like that P245, when you start with the P239 you will be amazed.  It seems to have something that you won't fully notice until you start shooting it.  It truly felt like an extension of my hand.  Best gun I ever owned.  Be forewarned though, .357 SIG is a pain to reload for. :)

Is my favorite CCW weapon.  Very easy to shoot.  I have the 9mm.  I've heard the 357 sig is VERY loud.  I would buy it in a NY minute.  USe the Hogue rubber grips.  I use a Don Hume IWB clip on so I can easy on/off... Good luck...

Thanks to all for taking the time to offer feedback.  I picked up a two-tone P239 in .357 Sig last Friday.  I can't wait to go to the range (like this is something new!).

I think I'm a Sig junkie for life.  My Kimber is my 'fun gun' for target shooting and the like. When it's do or die time, I go for the Sig!

BigDaddyB, I have owned the 239 since they were first available.  Mine is in 357 Sig.  It is a little peculiar to reload for and only certain bullet styles are acceptable.  Great little gun, my overall favorite.

Good for yopu BigDaddy, that 239 is the best carry gun I ever owned.

BigDaddyB:

Bought my P239 when they first came out...in 9mm. Eats anything you can feed it....goes bang EVERY TIME you pull the trigger...ZERO problems. The women folk around my house can shoot it with ease too, which means I get more opportunites to go to the range!  :)

You will love it...

Unfortunately, the weather here sucks right now.  I'm itching to get out and shoot this little monster.  I've heard a lot about the .357 Sig, and can't wait to experience it for myself.

Thanks for the feedback.  It's always nice to hear positive feedback when you've just made a major purchase!
