handi rifle scope base

 has anyone ever used a t/c one pc base on a handi? i hear it will work.not sure which t/c mount they were talking about.i am learning a lot real fast about nef, normally shoot a ruger 77 and glance at nef as i walk by.going to put handis to use this year.thanks

The spacing on an Encore base doesn't match an H&R barrel and the contour is made for a barrel that's .996" in diameter, H&Rs are 1.1XX" in diameter. What you may be referring to as working is the Weaver 92a base for the Contender which will work for two-hole mounting as a scout scope as shown in the FAQs, but only for barrels that have two mounting holes for the rear barrel sight which are mid-barrel. Of course more holes could easily be drilled if needed and any base could be modified to work, but there are numerous bases made specifically for H&Rs, see the FAQs for pics of them and sources.  ;)
