Reloading bench
« on: August 17, 2008, 08:59:02 AM »
Whew! Just got done building the bench (got to learn how to post pictures) 200$ wood and hardware. I'm staining and varnishing now. I will make the cabnet next weekend. The blueprint is in the ABC's of reloading chapter 18 . It is the orignal  NRMA reloading bench. You could just go buy a bench probably cheaper, but building it yourself goes with the spirit of hand loading . Will try to post pictures when i am done.

OH, I like pictures ;) It sure means more if you built it yourself. I designed mine and built it. I am very satisfied with it.

I've built three so far!  It's a blast and you can make them fit your room and needs.  My son needed one in his bedroom but his girlfriend didn't like the idea.  I built on where the press hinged up and two doors closed to hide the press.  Both top and bottom storage had doors also.  It looked allot like a desk with a top cabinet.  That one was the most expensive at $150.

i was hospitalized for 5 months in 2007. when I came home I found my partner had built a reloading bench for me. 3x6 feet. 3/4" mdf top and shelf 12" off floor for heavy stores, bullets etc. had a 3 tier parts bin set up for littles. and my pride and joy, my Dillon 1050 bolted down. it is just standard 2x4 framing with a diagonal brace in the back. hell for heavy and stout. nothing fancy like the NRMA bench but it sure does the trick. and best of all, my sweetie made it for me!!
