Safety replacement pins I made, before & after pics
« on: July 13, 2008, 07:13:15 AM »
I made a couple safety replacement pins out of 304 stainless steel on a Lathe and Bridgeport for my 1895GS.
They turned out pretty good and work great.

A couple pics of the pins before I installed them. The pin on the right is standing on end to show the slot so to look like a screw when installed on the receiver (see very bottom pic).

Some before pics with the safety still intact on the rifle

The after pics with the replacement pin.

The screw slot looks a little off center in the first pic.  Probably camera angle, but you can never tell. If you will ship me the whole gun around Nov. 1 I'll look it over real close and ship it back in a couple weeks.

Lloyd,
No notch, but if you look at the pics there's a spot drilled hole, to the left of the milled out slot, that I did with a center drill to seat the ball and spring so it locks it in place. I just eyeballed it to around .100" in diameter.
Not the best pics, I know  :'(

Yeah it's just the pics...they're a little blurry and could be the angle?

Nice work!  I have no such skills.  I buy older Marlins without the CBS.  :-\

Thanks for the kind words guys.
I drilled and tapped these and then added a saddle ring for a little bit of a custom look.
