Ruger Hawkeye in .35 Whelen

Don't know if you folks already know, but coming this August will be Ruger Hawkeyes in .35 Whelen.  They are offering both the blued/wood and stainless/synthetic.

The Hawkeyes are their new line of rifles.  You must be thinking of their Blackhawks and Redhawk pistols.

It is a handfull. I had a TC Encore 15" handgun in the 35 Whelen. Shot a handloaded Hornady 250gr. round nose 2100fps. out of that 15" barrel. Very accurate after you got used too the recoil.

Dakota ElkSlayer, Hope your right. If more companys come out with the Whelan rather than just Rem. (thank god for them or the whelan would be dead) then theres more chance ammo co's would put out a variety of ammo besides rem. or fed.

I ordered one got it about 3 weeks ago,Put a old scope on it and shot a few factory rounds and it shot well , Just installed new scope and reloaded some rounds plan on trying these out this weekend.

Yep, there are at least two of the new Ruger 35 Whelens on GunBroker today along with a handful of custom guns and a truckload of Remington boltguns, pumps, and semi-autos.

Saw them on Ruger's website on Friday.  Got so excited I almost wet my pants!  ;D  Went to the gunshop first thing next morning and ordered one.  I've been wanting a .35 Whelen for years.  Used Rugers are quite pricey and, anyhow, I have become a big fan of stainless/synthetic rifles.  Thanks to the fine folks at Sturm, Ruger for offering us what we want at prices we working stiffs can afford.
