I finally went and ordered a 14" G2 Contender in .44

I talked about Contenders in the past and even own an Encore, I finally pulled the trigger.  I chose the 14" .44 Mag for its versatility and I'm already set-up to reload it.  I also ordered the bits to make it a 22LR carbine with a Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 scope.  It will be here August first.  I'm thinking 7x30 Waters next, but, pistol or rifle barrel?  Well, let the daydreaming and net research begin.

Wow you really have it BAD, CONTENDERITS that is. Yep it is an infliction that effects some of us, and some of us worse than others.

Congrats on the new acquisition. I am sure you are going to enjoy it. I too have been thinking of getting a 14" .44 Magnum, but I would more than likely end up reaming mine out to .445 Super Mag in the end.

Another TCHolic  ;D, there is NO known cure for it, the best you can hope for ..... come to think about it just buy more barrels  :o ;D.  I'm sitting here now wondering what I want next ::)

Congrats on you 44mag barrel, I have both a 10 incher and a 14 inch model and they are a hoot to shoot.

I recently bought a G2 and a .44 mag Super 14 barrel.  Shortly after I found  a good used .22lr Super 14 barrel.  I am set for small game and deer here in Indiana.

I also have a 44 Mag 14 inch. I am now considering reaming to 44x356 or 444 marlin. Love those big BANGS!!!!!!!!!!

  Congratulations!  Sounds like you're already having a good time! Always keep a contender from being lonely, they thrive on attention and company (and barrels!).

The 44 magnum in a 14" barrel is a joy to shoot.
Hot loads are very controllable.

Well, I finally shot the beast last night and the full power loads booted me harder than I would have thought.  I guess my hand will have to toughen up a bit (mostly the inside of the thumb near the web).  I don't want to change the grip so maybe a shooting glove would be in order.  Anybody out there use one?

My has a 8 3/4 barrel with full loads it is a brute!!!!
