Topper Model 58 barrel on a Buffalo Classic?

Howdy.  I just bought a barrel off the classifieds here.  It's a Topper Model 58.  It seems to fit my BC frame OK, if a little tighter than my .45/70 barrel.
Is this a safe combo?  Are the Topper 58s older models?

I have an older 12 gauge Topper 88 barrel on one of my NEF frames.
It fits the frame fine and shoots great.

Read the FAQ's on barrel fitting to make sure you are getting proper latch engagement etc.

Thanks for the FAQ tip.  I think I read it before, but missed it when I was actually looking this time!
