Deer Hunting in Alabama
« on: July 29, 2003, 02:52:53 PM »
I live and hunt in Georgia, but am interested in extending my season by hunting in Alabama after the deer season closes here. Could those of you with experience in Alabama point me in the direction of some good public land (WMA's, National Forests, Corps of Eng. Land, etc) or a club with reasonable dues? I would only be hunting in January, so I don't want to shell out a fortune for a lease. I hear that the best deer populations are in SW Alabama, are there good places closer to this side?

Thanks,
Danny

Some of the better public land hunting in the state is in the NE corner in the WMAs there. Check them out on the state DFWF site. Jackson I believe is one good one. Little River another. Choccolocco might be close enough also depending on where you are coming from.

Can't help with clubs. Never been in one.
