Hen's Teeth or S&W Model 41 in .22 Short Rifle?

I apoligize for incorrectly assigning the model number 41 to this pistol, but the brain is growing tired about now.  Nonetheless, I wondered if anyone has experience with the S&W model 41 in 22 short rifle?  I would like to know what the production numbers were and if anyone ever sees one for either sale or trade.  The supply of any/all information will be greatly appreciated.  Regards,  JHT

Are you asking about a model 41 in .22 short? I've never heard of .22 short rifle?

You must be referring to the 41-1. The alloy frame version of the 41,  chambered in .22 short and produced from 1960 or 61 until 1973. Good luck finding one!!! If you do, you'll most likely need to take out a second mortgage to buy it. ;D

Love to help you, but guess I'd better just save my pennies for my on 41. I'd get the LR version of course. I'm a shooter, not a collector. Doubt that I'll ever own one, as from a pratical standpoint my Ruger Mk lls shoot better than I do. Everytime I'm tempted to buy a 41, I get to thinking:
I could buy a couple of Mklls and a Buckmark for about the same money. Who knows, someday I may run across one in a moment of weakness--------- ::)

Savage, whether you shoot one or have one as a "safe queen" does not matter, just having such a nice piece of craftsmanship makes the wait worthwhile.  Just keep searching and one day you will probaby come across a great deal for a Model 41.  Keep me posted when that happens.  Regards,  JHT

Got to admit, I wouldn't mind having a 41 in LR of course! It'd be a shooter for me----- :)
