Beretta Recoil vs Porting
« on: July 15, 2008, 01:37:23 PM »
Can someone tell me how the recoil of a Beretta 391A Urika2 in 12 gauge would compare to that of a Citori 525 Field that has had it's barrels pigeon ported by Magna-port?  I am seriously thinking (meaning I am nuts about the gun) about picking up a Urika 2 Gold if it would be a softer shooter.

Think your 525 has the overbored barrels correct? Should be about .740, after shooting trap for 35 yrs I can tell you that overbored barrels and long forcing cones are way more effective than porting. Porting has lost a lot of following over the years in trap. The Beretta should have a little less felt recoil but you can also load down to 1 oz and a Windjammer wad and get light recoil on your 525 too. If you go too light with the semi-auto you get malfunctions. Both great guns have fun.
