Removeing Paint

I put a couple coats of primer and a couple coats of hammered finish paint on my barrel.

What is the best way to remove it?
I did not sand the barrel first and would rather keep it that way.
Can I save the blueing?

Any strong solvent like MEK, Lacquer Thinner, or Acetone will probably remove it without harming the bluing.

Thanks, I figured I would try thinner.
I just didn't know if it would hurt anything else.

That paint turned out a little bright for a Coyote gun.

yu mite try permatex gasket remover, i took the paint off a honda tank with it a while back. just bubbled it up where yu could scrape it off with a razor blade.dont get it on plastic or any finish yu want to save.

reread yur post, not sure it woul;dnt take off blueing also. yu mite try misting the finish yu have with a green or black spatter paint to tone it down.

After 3+ hours,2 different thinners, steel wool, and some relly fine sandpaper
I went to the hardeware store and bought some spray paint remover.
Worked perfectly. 10 minutes and the paint was gone.
