I have sold off or gave away most of my equipment.I have 3 dozen,in the box,Bridger #2 traps.I still have my setting tools, enough stakes and only about 3 gallons of bait and lure.I have enough coyote urine to last for a long time.Got my achilles tendon fixed, can walk on it now. There are all sorts of fox and coyotes making there presence known. It is real dry here, drought conditions. The lack of water will concentrate the canines. In years like this before find the water, there is the prey and the predators. The creek just west of my house about 3 miles has spring holes in it.You should see the canine tracks around it.Ok so I'm getting excited.Gas dropped to below $4.00 a gallon here,a real bargain!
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!

Glad to hear you are back in the saddle. If you must, just limp your way along. Slow and easy--is better than no trapping at all.
as each year passes, I wonder how long I can keep going at the level I do.
The thought of not being able to trap, depresses me to,  no  end.
My worst fear ---not being able to water trap--AND THEN HAVING TO TURN INTO A FLEA BUS TRAPPER>
Glad you are still with us, and hope things go well with your dad.

Coyotero back in Spring of 2001, I had snapped my femur in a motorcycle accident here in IL. I had given up hunting & trapping for two years because I was not able to walk very well nor far. Although the bone has healed, the muscle tissue has never recovered to 100% and I still carry the hardware internally but I got back into the great outdoors. I am able to pheasant hunt slowly, deer hunt, waterfowl, and I'm running my traplines again both on land and in a canoe. I have to admit that it took a couple of close friends along with my wife to get me back into the field but in the long run, it has been a good form of physical therapy but an even great form of mental therapy!!! Do yourself a favor, never under any conditions what so ever sell off your gear. Leave that up for your wife to do after you're dead.
I Trap And I Hunt. Therefore I AM!
