Came out smelling like a rose
« on: August 20, 2008, 03:39:19 PM »
Got a call from a buddy of mine tonight , seems he was at a auction and got 2 boxes of stuff cheap , most was 44 mag but a lot was 45 LC , a round that he does not shoot so he called and ask if I would be in the need of any of it .

To make a long story short ,

1500 cast bullets ( 250 grain RN )

200 new pieces of brass ,

12 boxes of factory ammo ( 50 count ) ,

A Lee lead pot ,

Lyman bullet mold for a 255 grain SWC with handles ,

Ladle ,

Lee carbide die set

8 - 50 round plastic boxes ( new )

And a few other assorted small things , total cost to me $100 , having friends that can save ne a ton of money = priceless .  ;D

Ya know Stimpy, if I see you carrying any of that stuff around at the Lima gun show, I can guarentee you, Catfish and I will be all over you like a dog on a steak. And since we know how much you paid for it, don't try and make too much on it. (what are friends for!) gypsyman

Ya I defiantly came out good on this deal , did a little more looking and it turns out that 2 of the boxes of factory ammo are the old Win Silver Tip HPs ( Wearwolves beware ) , I fired up the lead pot and it works like a champ .

Now to haul my butt over to my stepdads and raid his lead stash , he has a bunch of WW that he has been using for years to make Walleye rigs with , seems like a waist of lead if you ask me .  ;D

I guess now I'm going to have to break down and start buying molds , been using a friends pot and molds .  ::)

Don't count on seeing any of it at the show , as it turns out I was down to my last 20 bullets for my LCs , was going to have to buy some Vance at the show but now I can spend it on other goodies instead .
