brmr30, Cobra Patriot Review
« on: August 10, 2003, 02:00:41 AM »
brmr30,
I tried replying to your post, but I'm having trouble.  Anyway, here's what I know.  The Cobra Patriot in .45 was originally made by Republic Arms of Chino, CA.  Cobra bought them out (all inventory and parts) and is apparently still selling them.  Be aware that the .45 design and 380/9mm design are two completely different designs.  If you search www.the firingline.com for Republic Arms Patriot you will find more info.  If you can get ahold of the 2000 edition of Gun Digest there is a feature article of the .45 acp Republic Arms Patriot.  This gun is smaller than a Glock 36 and as a bonus it will accept Colt (or clone) 1911 mags, though they will stick out the bottom a little bit.  I've had mine for three years and it has had zero malfunctions with FMJ or hollow-points.  It's accurate once you get used to the double-action pull.  Because it's striker fired, it has second strike capability for hard primers.  Good luck with your search.
