Looks like all kinds of things have happened since I left the state.  Elk hunting for the past several years and now bear hunting.

How are things in KY?  I heard that there was a deer die off last year due to blue tongue or something.

Awesome about the bear hunting.  I've been back in the state for about 6 years.  In the Casey, Taylor, Adair area where those 3 counties come together, there were several documented bear sightings last year.   That's a major change.

We bought 57 acres last fall.  I found 7 deer carcass' 3 doe and 4 buck.  3 of the bucks were average or below.  Unfortunately, there was a 4x6 that scored out somewhere around 140 Boone and Crockett.  Sad.

I did find a nice symmetric medium weight 10 pt shed this spring so there is still a decent gene pool around.

I'm 42 and I would never have dreamed when I was a kid that we'd have bear in southcentral KY.

Bear, Elk, Deer all over the place.   Now if we could get the habitat restored for good quail survival.... that'd be icing on the cake.
