new rifle to me
« on: August 21, 2009, 02:33:28 PM »
Hello everyone,
I have just had my first semi-custom bolt action rifle completed by Hill Country Rifles. It is a Winchester Model 70 Classic Stainless in 30-06.  I had them accurize it into a McMillan stock with Edge Technology.  Later this year or early next I should be able to provide a range report.  Until then, here's a pic.

Thanks, Dinny(currently deployed)

Cool Din!  I'll bet you can't wait!

BTW, in case I miss the other thread, when are you coming through Atlanta?

AtlLaw,
I'm shooting for sometime around 1 Sep.  It's still in the works though.

Thanks, Dinny

Well, be sure to let me know if you have a layover, even an hour or two between flights.

Dinny,

I don't think you could have picked a finer rifle to customize. I might be a little biased though. ;) And I hear that Hill Country Rifles does excellent, top quality work - many, many, excellent reviews from happy camper customers. I'm betting you'll be a happy camper too. Congrats on a great new rig.

Winchester model 70 and the 30-06 cartridge. Have owned a few over the years and didn't have one that wouldn't shoot an inch or better. Wish I could say the same for my rem 700 308VS. My savage 110FP in the same caliber does way better.
And has a better trigger. Frank
