Innerchangability of barrels
« on: September 02, 2008, 12:19:45 PM »
I know from owning both, that Contender and Encore barrels are "NOT" innerchangable.
But...Are the Encore and the Pro hunter barrels innerchangable??
I know the Pro Hunter needs a different forearm, but what about swapping the barrels on the same frame?
I carry a single shot.
'cause it only takes one shot.

Encore Pro Hunter and regular Encore barrels are interchangeable.

I thought I had read they were, but I spent almost 30 minutes the other day at Gander Mountain while the guy there tried to look it up. Then he finally asked someone else, and then they told me  "NO" they were not.
Just wanted to ask someone who actually knows.

Thanks.

Pro Hunters ARE Encores.  Everything is interchangable, including the stock and forearms.  I have an early(four digit Encore) and it is wearing an Encore Pro Hunter Flex-tech stock and forearm right now, no problem.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt  ;)

I have both and interchange barrels grips and butt stocks all the time. As for Gander mountain I was there in Texas yesterday and was looking for a mounting bar for a packmire fore grip for a contender and the fellow did not even know that one was required to mount one on the contender and he was in the gun repair department as you may guess I came away with no bar. :) :) :) When I was looking to buy an Encore I was told that the only difference was the little bit of engraving on the pro hunter.
