.44 mag ammo ?
« on: September 05, 2008, 03:03:58 PM »
Has anybody used Hornady .44 mag 225 grain FTX LEVERevolution ammo. I am in need of some good deer hunting ammo as I dont have time to load any up. I am shooting a 10" Contender. Thanks for any info.

I just happen to see the 225-gr FTX demonstrated on TV the other night (Outdoor Channel) and watched how this dropped a deer in it's tracks from a T/C handgun BTW.  For whitetail I would have no problem using this stuff, but I reload so will pass for now.

You should do very well with it on deer.

I load all of my own ammo, but have loaded the Rem. 240 gr. bullets for a Super Black Hawk and their preformance on deer was great. Give the Rem. ammo a try, and if it is accurate in your gun the bullets will preform.
